A qualified, established and experienced Psychotherapist working within private practice. I am experienced in client assessments, provide individual psychotherapy for adults, adolescents and children, and couples psychotherapy for partners or family members. I facilitate reflective practice groups for organisations. I am an accredited Supervisor for The Bowlby Centre clinical training.
Fully accredited with the UKCP, I maintain high professional standards and have a passion for ongoing professional development, particularly within the field of Attachment-based research.
My approach is that pain and suffering in adult life often results from broken or difficult attachments earlier in our lives. Overcoming such pain can be achieved safely through a boundaried and healing therapeutic relationship.
I work individually with clients primarily online or telephone. I have worked within specialist schools as an individual and group Supervisor. I can offer assessments for parents and children attending the school, establishing individual needs particularly in the area of ADHD and Autism and where mainstream settings have broken down. I have worked extensively with people who have been fostered or adopted, and also those who are considering fostering or adoption. I am experienced in working with Neurodivergence and offer a neuro-affirming approach.
I work within the framework of Attachment-based Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, which sees psychotherapy as a co-operative venture between the psychotherapist and client.
By providing a secure and confidential setting, my aim is to enable people to share experiences and feelings that they may not have been able to talk about before. Sharing your experiences in a setting which is non-judgmental can help alleviate the pain of loss, abuse, depression and anxiety and help us to understand how this behaviour is often re-enacted.
The developing relationship with your psychotherapist gives you the opportunity to explore the impact of past and current relationships on your life and allows you insight with which you can start to make changes, and stop repeating destructive patterns which may hold you back.
Telephone or online sessions are available - please contact me here.
